UI DESIGN

SUMMARY

Project Background

Daily UI is a service that sends you a series of daily design challenges and design inspiration. This intrigued me so I signed up to improve my UI skills and knowledge. I am actively still participating in this challenge and take workshops on the daily challenge to create best designs.

WHAT I’VE LEARNED

100 Days of Design

Day 001

Daily UI challenged me to create a sign up page, modal, form, or app screen related to signing up for something. I decided to create a mobile iOS sign in page for a wellness application. I learned a lot through through making this sign in page about showing input fields, icons, and placeholders. I also found out allowing people to sign in using their social media accounts is a great feature to have for log ins/sign ups. Users don’t want to spend time filling out the log in sheet so offering a one click social account link is beneficial. Lastly, the biggest lesson is never get in the way of the user.

Day 002

For this project I was challenged to design a credit card checkout form or page. I decided to go with a desktop check out page for a small kayaking business called “Kayak with Kacey”. The user agreed to schedule for a session with Kacey on August 21st at 10am. The kayak session costs a total of $121.08, including taxes and fees. In this design I noticed how button size played a big part in bringing the design together. I like the two section checkout to show the status bar and action requirement on one side and the order details on the right. I used Airbnb’s check out page as inspiration.

ServiceNow Example

As the head UI Designer, I am building out the ServiceNow portal for E3S’ Integrated Talent Management (ITM) Site. This site will be a one stop shop for all things career growth for employees. The example below is the first wireframe for the homepage.
